What the 16-bit shelf holds
50 titles covered
Every title from the 16-bit era that earned a place in the canon, 3 in the Top 10, 5 in the Top 25 and 13 in the Top 100. The list is read from the catalogue at request time, so it is the real count rather than a number somebody typed once.
1989 to 2000
The span the catalogue actually holds from the 16-bit era, first release to last. Hardware from Microsoft, Nintendo and Sega.
4 systems
Spread across SNES (30), Genesis (10), DOS (5) and GB (5). Each guide is written against the version that shipped on that machine.
Series covered end to end
Including Mario Bros. (4), Final Fantasy (3), Donkey Kong (2), Pokémon (2) and Sonic The Hedgehog (2). Sibling titles link to each other, so a code that carried across a series is easy to follow.

- Which systems count as 16-bit?
- SNES, Genesis, DOS and GB. Every one of them is represented in the canon, and the count beside each is what the catalogue holds today.
- Are the codes verified?
- Every code carries the source it came from, and codes that have not cleared validation stay out of the public pages entirely. Where a trick is remembered rather than proven, it is labelled as community-reported instead of being presented as fact.
