Questions
The vault is in beta and we are building it in public. These are the questions we get most, answered straight.
SharkVault is an original-content strategy guide platform for the Top 500 classic and retro games, Atari through PS2, from GameShark Labs. Every guide covers cheat codes, controller exploits, glitches, easter eggs, design oversights, and the schoolyard lore that grew up around each game.
Guides are drafted by our editorial AI against a curated facts file. Every section then clears automated citation and code checks, and a person decides what opens to readers. Nothing reaches the vault on the model's say-so. What our record cannot show you is a named editor signing off on each individual section, and we would rather say that than claim otherwise. Every guide shows its source count, its fact count, and when it was last verified. As we license legacy media (era magazines, strategy guides, code books), the editorial AI moves from drafting prose to helping editors work a much larger archive.
How we write thisThe Compendium is edited to print standard, not exported from the web vault. Vault sections are the research substrate: an editor works from them, and the prose in the book is written and cut for the page. Founders vote on the roadmap that shapes both.
Read a sample chapterTwo things, and they are separate. Access is invite-only while we roll out. Content is in beta too: sections are being corrected, expanded, and rewritten in the open, and a guide that reads thin today is a guide with an editorial pass still queued.
Email editorial@gamesharklabs.com with the game and what is wrong. Bad codes, wrong calls, missing tricks, and padded sections are all worth sending. A person reads every one, and corrections from readers who actually finished the game are the fastest route we have to a better record.
Founders do, by voting on the public roadmap. Founder submissions, community editor roles, and in-app feedback are all queued behind that vote.
See the roadmapGameFAQs archives community submissions. SharkVault writes original guides with a systematic lens: the full spectrum of player ingenuity, codes, glitches, exploits, and lore, organized as one ranked canon. Guides are written and fact-checked by people who finished the games rather than scraped from wikis, and every game gets original backdrop art in a '90s airbrush style.
The canon targets the Top 500 classic and retro games from the Atari era through PlayStation 2, ranked in tiers: Hall of Fame first, then Era Definers, Canon Completers, and Deep Cuts. Over 150 games are built out in the vault with hundreds more in editorial, and the flagship Grand Theft Auto guides are open to read now.
